Geoff - Vocals, Percussions and Keys
Geoff grew up in Ohio before moving to Atlanta in '84. In school, he was one of those few "Geeks" that actually could relate with the music teacher, soaked up what he was teaching, and later joined the choir. His love for music on the radio in the 70's and 80's always had him dreaming of being a musician/rock star. In or around '89, he found himself with a startup garage band for the first time, and was hooked. The guitarist's brother, whom had a fairly advanced and well practiced band of his own called Killan Floor, quickly took notice and snatched Geoff up when their previous lead man took a hike. With dreams of fame, fortune, and stars in their eyes, the Killan Floor band relentlessly rehearsed original music 3-4 nights a week (as well as some cover tunes for the occasional frat/sorority party) and played numerous free, self-promoted gigs, in hopes of getting noticed and getting famous. After 2 years of trying in vain, with rehearsals getting longer and patience growing shorter, Killan Floor decided to call it quits while they were still friends.
Geoff did nothing musically besides singing in the car and reflecting on what might have been, until the Spring of 1999, when he met Cliff Shephard (dah Cliffstah) after calling him for a satellite system repair job. Cliff assimilated him into his project which came to be known as Strings Attached. Being from Brooklyn, Cliff quickly endowed him with the moniker; Dah Singahdude! (The Singer Dude) There wasn’t so much dreaming or so many stars in the eyes at that time, but Strings Attached played more for self gratification and the love of music. Usually, they just played in the basement for fun. But if the need presented itself and there was a gig to be played, the mantra was: "we need to get paid to lug the stuff"!!!)
In the fall of 2002, the call of greener employment pastures compelled Geoff make the hard decision to depart from Strings Attached and move to Florida. Many hard working years passed without any musical indulgence. But after years of working tirelessly, the fellow known as "Dah Singa Dude" sought to hook up with a local musical outfit and get the “ya-ya’s out". After meeting Charles on the web, he made his way into Doc MOJO. Once a 3 piece outfit, Doc Mojo had decided to put the pedal to the metal and make it a 5 – or 6 man project, so they could really orchestrate and work out some of the more heavily layered songs from the 70’s and 80’s that can’t be done by smaller bands.
The result is what you see today; seasoned veterans with experience, a love for the music and a keen eye on where they came from and where they’re going.
